Air Measuring Station Placement
Problem:

Locating an air measuring station within a duct system can often be a difficult task. The reason why the air measuring station is hard to locate is because it has certain requirements that are not always easy to find in the system. In order to operate properly, the station needs to be located in an area of fully established laminar flow. In addition, a higher face velocity across the measuring station produces a more accurate measurement. Because many HVAC systems are designed with low air speed in mind, this poses a problem for AMS measurements.

Solution:

By placing the AMS within the RINK rectangular dissipative straight pod silencer, many of the location problems can be solved. Silencers (like the AMS) require laminar flow to operate at peak efficiency. Therefore, placing the AMS within the silencer lets the designer take advantage of getting 2 devices into 1 area of laminar flow. Also, due to the silencing pods of the silencer, the face velocity within the silencer is much higher than the duct velocity, yeilding more accurate measurements. The RINK AMS also comes prefabricated within the silencer in order to lower installation and mounting costs within the system.
