Generator Housing
Problem:

Generators or other sound producing units are often required at a site for operation. Unfortunately, when the unit is in operation, the produced sound levels exceed the allowable levels. Typically, these sound level requirements are set by the city at the property line and are enforced by city officials who visit the site and take sound level measurements. As a result, some sort of sound attenuation must be applied to the unit, otherwise it will exceed city code during operation.

Solution:

RINK can handle this sound attenuation in two fashions. First, we can manufacture a custom enclosure for the unit out of our 2" or 4" acoustical panels. This will reduce breakout sound from the generator's body into the atmosphere. Our panels can be engineered to enclose virtually any element and can also be used as heat insulators.

Second, silencer banks can be manufactured to stand at both the intake and discharge ends of the generator and knock down the intake and discharge noise levels. Using computer modeled environments, we can analyze the sound level at the property line due to these multiple sources and determine a silencer type that will produce the required levels at the property line (see The Jones Residence).
